What is NLP?

NLP is about communication �NLP is about language�NLP is about modelling excellence �NLP is about mastering your mind �NLP is the study of internal experience. NLP is more than just positive thinking. NLP is holistic in that it combines thinking, feeling and doing. NLP is a multi-dimensional process that involves the development of behavioral competence and flexibility, but also involves strategic thinking and an understanding of the mental and cognitive processes behind behavior.

Techniques

Salespeople learn NLP techniques to build deep levels of rapport, elicit and fulfill the criteria and values of clients, and develop effective methods for handling buyer's remorse or future objections so the sales relationship is long-term and mutually satisfying. Trainers and Educators learn new paradigms for inspiring and engaging students, as well as effective NLP techniques for dealing with challenging learning environments. Mental Health Professionals learn new skills and techniques that supplement their repertoire, and gain additional insights into helping clients make the changes that support their own process of healing. Medical Professionals learn NLP techniques to better elicit information from clients, and to help the client be more comfortable with and receptive to treatment, thus supporting them to heal in a more responsive fashion.

Programming

Neuro linguistic programming or NLP is about discovering subjective experience and asking ourselves if this experience is useful or functional, and if not, how do we change it so it is. Using their findings they developed a group of techniques, which they called Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP). The basic principle of NLP is that it is in an individual`s power to change their own subconscious programming for the better".

NLP is more than just positive thinking. NLP is about noticing conscious and unconscious behavioural patterns. NLP is essentially a model of excellence and achievement, or 'what works'. NLP is results oriented and consequently treatment is fast.
